Troubleshooting
Most issues are fixed by checking a few things in WordPress and your Voicgen account before you reach out for help.
I don't see the player on the post
- Open the post in the editor and check the Voicgen Audio panel—wait until status is Ready, or click Generate audio if needed.
- The post must be published; audio generation from the panel is not available while the post stays a draft.
- Make sure Disable audio for this post is not turned on.
- Run Test connection on Settings → Voicgen to confirm your API key still works.
- If you use a caching or optimisation plugin, clear the cache and reload the post—cached HTML may be missing the player until the cache refreshes.
Test connection fails
Copy the API key again from your Voicgen account and paste it carefully—no spaces before or after. Save settings and test again. If your Voicgen subscription or trial has ended, renew or upgrade in your Voicgen account before the plugin can generate audio.
If your host blocks outgoing connections, ask their support to allow WordPress to contact Voicgen's servers from your site.
Monthly limit or quota messages
When your plan's allowance for the billing period is used up, generation pauses until the next cycle or until you upgrade. The meta box may show a message with a link to manage billing in Voicgen.
Status stays on Queued or Generating for a long time
Long articles can take longer. Try refreshing the editor page. If nothing changes after many minutes, try Regenerate audio once, and check your Voicgen account for any alerts about that post.
